July Notes
A look back at July. A look forward to August.
July was a really good month. Busier than I expected, honestly. I didn’t get to read as many books as I was hoping to. I had a weekend retreat with Lilly that was so nice. I wrote a whole essay on it, link here if you missed it. Otherwise it was back-to-school shopping, doctor appointments, eye checkups. All the little end-of-summer stuff.
And on a whim I started painting the inside of my house. Changing light fixtures, hardware, we got a new dining table and chairs. Just brightening everything. It’s not done yet, but once the kids are back in school I’ll keep going. I just want it all to feel soft and cozy. Filled with things I love.
July kind of threw a wrench in my art and reading. So I’m using August, especially with the kids going back to school, to really restructure what my days look like. I want to time block and make sure I’m actually incorporating journaling, reading, and art every single day. July was a little all over the place. I’m ready for some real rhythm again.
Here’s a little photo recap of what July looked like.
